Focus of Future Development
a. Promoting of Natural Resource Conservation in Rural Communities
In the future, ESRI will work with farms and rural communities to stress the importance of natural resource conservation, while promoting leisure farm conservation and management techniques, and rural community eco-tour accreditation. In order to implement biodiversity conservation in rural areas.
b. Publishing Biodiversity Educational Materials
Applying the results of past bio-inventory survey and research, ESRI will produce educational videos, e-learning materials, website platforms, and conduct mobile classrooms, seminars and workshops to make these educational materials available to engineers and teachers, helping them to effectively and correctly undertake conservation work.
c. Strengthening Community-based Biodiversity Conservation
In line with the trend for community renewal, ESRI is looking to strengthen research into community-based biodiversity education and awareness through the promotion of the leisure farm industry.
d. Promoting Nature Conservation at Hushan Reservoir
ESRI will promote nature conservation learning at communities and elementary and middle schools near the Hushan Reservoir in Yunlin County, and will go forward with the planning of a nature education center there.
e. Upgrading Interpretative Quality
ESRI will actively strengthen management of the Conservation Education Center, and improve the effectiveness of its operations and the quality of interpretative services in order to meet the Institute’s goal of sustainability.
